The Day After....

Christmas is hands-down my favorite holiday.  It is full of traditions, family, friends, food, music the list is endless.  I think the fact that Christmas lasts more than just 1 day also helps add to the allure of the holiday.

As a kid, one my favorite parts of the holiday week was December 26th.  Why?  Because that is the day we typically had no plans therefore it consisted of staying home lounging and digging into all of our new loot.  Trying on clothes, playing new games, doing new art projects etc.  As an adult, I can still say I like the day after.  We no longer can lounge in our own home and there isn't the plethora of toys that we had as kids, but the action of exploring new "toys" still exists and I love it :)

Here are some of the new toys that have been keeping us busy (and distracting us from unpacking boxes) over the last couple days.

1. Belgian Waffle Iron - We have one of those round ones, but there is something to be said for Belgian style waffles that hold the strawberries and whip cream and don't get soggy!  I even broke my own rule and we had breakfast for dinner one evening.  Next project will be making waffle ice cream sandwiches

2. Kuerig Milk Frother - We have become coffee drinkers.  I am pretty sure it all began when we purchased our first Keurig.  Coffee is great, but lattes are our favorite and since B used to be a Baristo (didn't know that word existed until I googled male form of Barista), he knows just the right amount of milk and espresso to add.  We are thrilled to have our own frothed milk within 60 - 90 seconds by just pushing a button!

3. NINJA -  This is something we didn't know we needed until we have it.  It acts just like the super blenders in Jamba Juice.  We have stocked up on spinach, pineapples, bananas, carrots, oranges etc. and have had liquid lunches the past couple days.  It is awesome.  We can't wait to try making dips and spreads with it as well.

Thanks to everyone who made Christmas 2012 so special!
